1. The Reference in Plain Terms

San Diego Residents Directory is privately operated reference material. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, court portals, archives, and directory collections concerning people who live or have lived in San Diego, California. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with a government office, court, library, or records custodian.

2. Lawful Rules for Use

Use these pages only for lawful purposes. You may not use the reference or anything reached through it to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit fraud, identity theft, or a similar unlawful act
  • Make a decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the content at scale
  • Interfere with site operation, access controls, or security

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency

This reference is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following. Material on these pages, and results returned by a linked search provider, are not consumer reports. They must not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.

4. Outside Links and Tools

San Diego County portals, California agencies, courts, libraries, archives, and sponsored search providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies. San Diego Residents Directory does not control their content, availability, pricing, results, or data practices.

5. No Warranty Promise

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of this reference or a linked source, including an action taken from a record found through it.

7. Your Responsibility

You agree to indemnify and hold the operators harmless from a claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that results from your misuse of the reference or violation of these terms.

8. Copyright and Site Material

The original wording, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short attributed excerpt is welcome. Republishing a full page or systematically copying the reference is not permitted.

9. Changes to These Terms

A revised version may be posted on this page. Continued use after an update means that the revised terms are accepted.

10. Restricting Access

The operators may block or limit access by a user who violates these terms, abuses the reference, or threatens its operation. That action may be taken without advance notice.

11. California Governing Law

These terms are governed by California law without regard to conflict-of-law principles. California’s Public Records Act, Government Code section 7920.000 and following, describes access to public records held by state and local agencies; it does not make this private reference a records custodian. 12. Severability

If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect to the extent permitted by law.
