Data You Give Us Directly
Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered into a search widget are sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. San Diego Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search entries on its own servers. If you contact us, we receive the information written in your message and use it to respond or route a correction question.
Data We Gather Automatically
Ordinary hosting logs may contain an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. Those logs can be reviewed in aggregate to maintain the reference and understand which San Diego pages receive use. Basic cookies or similar technologies may support analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
What We Do With This Data
Automatic data is used to operate the pages, troubleshoot failures, measure traffic, and improve the reference. We do not sell visitor lists or build an individual profile of a reader from the site’s ordinary logs.
Links to Other Websites
The pages link to San Diego County and California portals, courts, libraries, archives, and third-party search providers. Once a reader leaves this domain, the destination’s privacy policy controls the information submitted there. That includes sponsored results and any government form that asks for identity, eligibility, or a records request.
Who Might See Your Data
Hosting and technical service providers may process server logs while supporting the reference. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Information may be disclosed when valid legal process requires it; otherwise, the site does not sell or rent a visitor list.
How We Protect Your Data
The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. There are no San Diego Residents Directory user accounts, passwords, or personal profiles stored on these pages. No security measure can promise absolute protection, but collection is kept narrow.
Users Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor sent information to the contact mailbox, use the Contact page so the material can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
Your Data Rights
California’s Consumer Privacy Act and CPRA, Civil Code section 1798.100 and following, provide rights that can include knowing, deleting, correcting, opting out of sale or sharing, using Global Privacy Control, and limiting certain sensitive-information uses, subject to exceptions. Because San Diego Residents Directory keeps little personal data, a request normally means checking the contact mailbox and relevant server logs. Use the Contact page to ask.
Government records held by California, San Diego County, or the City of San Diego are outside this site’s control. California’s Public Records Act, Government Code section 7920.000 and following, governs a separate request to the responsible custodian. A CCPA deletion request does not erase a deed, court file, assessor record, voter record, or other public record maintained under legal authority. For covered commercial data brokers, California’s DROP process is a separate downstream choice.
Updates to This Policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with its new wording. Continued use after publication indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
